Consent Order Drafting
Make your financial agreement legally binding after divorce
If you and your spouse have agreed how to divide your money, property, or pensions, a consent order is the legal document that turns that agreement into a binding court order. Without one, either of you could make a financial claim in the future — even years after your divorce is finalised.
At Online Divorce Solicitors UK, our qualified solicitors can prepare and submit a consent order on your behalf, ensuring it meets court requirements and fully protects your agreed settlement.
What is a consent order?
A consent order is a formal agreement that sets out how your finances will be divided after divorce. It must be drafted clearly and approved by a judge. It can include:
- How property will be divided
- What happens to savings or debts
- Pension sharing arrangements
- Whether any spousal maintenance will be paid
- Whether there will be a clean break
It’s submitted to the court after the Conditional Order stage and finalised once your Final Order is granted.
Why do I need one?
Even if everything is agreed now, divorce alone doesn’t end financial ties. Without a consent order, your ex could return years later to make a claim against your income, assets, or inheritance. A consent order gives you long-term financial protection, closure, and legal certainty.
What we do for you

When can I apply for one?
You can apply for a consent order after your Conditional Order is granted but before your Final Order. If your divorce is already finalised, you can still apply separately — though it’s best to submit it during the divorce process.
